YOUR TUTOR: MORGEN BAILEY
Buckinghamshire-based MORGEN BAILEY has a multi-faceted career. She writes crime & mystery fiction and non-fiction.
Her 39 published books include crime thrillers ‘One For The Road’, ‘After Jessica’ and ‘Hitman Sam’, a dog detective series, women's fiction, as well as several writer's block workbooks, an editing guide, and diaries for writers. Last but no means least is a series of themed Sunday-Saturday diaries.
She is also a highly experienced guest speaker, creative writing tutor & mentor, a writing workshop host, a publishers’ and freelance editor and a literary competition judge.
What You Can Expect From This Course
Following on from the introduction in the free 'basics' area of these academy, in these editing sessions, you will progress that knowledge with more sessions on how to make your manuscript shine.
As well as the free access to twice-weekly live webinars:
Tuesday (6.30pm UK time): Writing 101 - where you can ask Morgen anything about the writing process and industry.
Thursday (6.30pm UK time): Editing 101 - where you can ask Morgen anything about the editing process, her day job!
...there will be additional live Editing 101 sessions (at different days and times during the week to suit geographical timezones) to members of 'Editing Your Writing', this area of the academy.
There will be 'Red Pen' sessions where you can submit your writing and take part as Morgen provides feedback, or join fellow writers doing the same.
These will all be recorded to replay at a later time, or watch for the first time if you missed the live sessions.

Tutorials
A variety of recorded tutorials, all on the topic of editing. Whether you have finished, or are part way through, your first project or have several under your belt and want to improve your editing skills, these are for you.
Editing 101 Q&As
The Editing 101 Q&As are live sessions that will take place on Zoom, starting September 2024:
- Every Thursday evening (6.30pm UK time) - all students of the academy are welcome to attend these live sessions.
- Other live sessions will be available (at different days and times during the week to suit geographical timezones) to members of 'Editing Your Writing', this area of the academy.
The recordings will be available thereafter, again only to subscribed members.
This is your opportunity to grill... er, ask Morgen anything about the editing process.
Red Pen Sessions
These sessions will consist of writing by those brave enough to have submitted a piece of flash fiction or chapter of their novel to Morgen (in advance) then, live via Zoom, witness it being pulled apart.
The recordings will then appear in this part of the academy.
